Call Me the SunA Poem by LowesyCall me the sun, call me the sun, I burn forever; I will not give up, Call me the sun, call me the sun. I burn forever, you are the one. Call me the sun. It seems so bright, It looks so nice, That flaming ball in the sky, It is my life, Get too close and you will burn, But my gravity pulls you in, In time you will learn, What’s lurks inside the sun.
There’s a heart that beats, life, is so inferior, A raging ball of flame, ever expanding into space, It’s etched onto my face, I am me. I’m dangerous to the touch, Yet you depend on me so much, I don’t even know why I am here. I seemed to have given you life, I burn forever except for night, When you turn your back on me, But I will be here when you wake, I am here, make no mistake, I am never going to leave. Far beyond me, behind my exterior, There’s a heart that beats, life, is so inferior, A raging ball of flame, ever expanding into space, It’s etched onto my face, I am me. Behind the surface that remains, I’m called the blinding sun, Far beyond the flames, I’m sorry for all I’ve done. Far beyond me, behind my exterior, There’s a heart that beats, life, is so inferior, A raging ball of flame, ever expanding into space, It’s etched onto my face, I am me. Call me the sun, call me the sun, I burn forever; I will not give up, Call me the sun, call me the sun. I burn forever, you are the one. Call me the sun. © 2011 Lowesy |
