Barstool Junction

A Poem by Lucia

He drank himself a shot in the morning.

Away and lost I was by his touring

of my own torn - up tattered

stranded

loathing.

Entangled as he was by my

shattered adoring - together we withered by our abiding wills.

Lost thoughts not worth exploring...

I live within the constant contrast of my past.

I can feel the thoughts vibrating throughout the avenues of my mind,

their potential lost.

I cannot be…

And so I was.

Powerful piece because it's pure and lasting. I love the structure; it conveys a bit of the chaos that I felt as I read it. My favorite line-- "I live within the constant contrast of my past." Again, original and lasting, and perhaps somewhat haunting. Another impressive work from you!
