I am

A poem about me

I am Someone.

An introvert.

Closing the doors to the elevator.

A loner, but a free thinker,

Choosing alienation for imagination.

 

I am Someone

From stone to flesh.

Uncovering my buried emotions.

From happy to sad, and vice versa.

So new, so compelling.

 

I am Someone,

An optimistic realist.

I seem harsh, sarcastic, and critical,

But I do care.

It’s hard to show it sometimes,

But I try, that I do.

 

I am Someone,

I am a teacher.

I want to become better.

Become better by making others (You guys!) better.

I teach others, and I learn about myself.

 

I am Someone,

A poet.

Bleeding the truth onto the bland lies of reality.

Freeing myself from the dark chains of formality.

As I break past my inhibitions,

I learn about others, help others, and empathize with others.

I uncover who I really am, and what I want.

 

I am Someone,

A philosopher,

I spread some ideas of how to see the world,

How to be better,

How to treat others.

 

I’m just a book

With chapters to be read.

Give it a chance with everyone you meet,

Maybe you’ll find a chapter you enjoy.

This is a poem I made a while back, something I had do for this introspective class that I really enjoyed in the inside.
