Thirst

Thirst

A Poem by Ally Baker

a single black speck

floating

in a sea of colors

barely noticed

but standing out the most

gliding through the halls

as daily ritual goes

no one looks

but their whispers and snickers

echo through the halls

they giggle in class

and mock her

but their cheerful moods

are lost on the dark soul

of the girl which they ridicule

she stares at them bleakly

her face pale and lifeless

her eyes surrounded in charcoal

and from the deep depths of the pupils of her eyes

a blood thirsty monster cries out

it is hungry

staring at the tasty meal

sitting before it

it wishes to be fed

for its thirst to be quenched

but she refrains

starving it

hoping that one day

it will be gone

even if it takes her life with it

This would be a good description for one's control of vengeance. Not sure if that was what you were going for, but it is definetely a perfect fit. Good write.

I really like this one.
I find myself feeling like this.
I interpret this in a metaphorical way.
The girl isn't thirsty for their blood but actually just holding back her anger because she'd love nothing more than to take them all out.
If I'm completely off base, sorry:P
Excellent write :)
