This Is Me

This Is Me

A Poem by Ally Baker

hightops under

tight dark jeans

layered with chains

black longsleeved tee

white shirt layered on top

with "paint" splattered all over

long dark hair

covering outlined eyes

purple flowing through it

white like burning metal

blocking some of my view

sitting on my nose

they all stare and

point and whisper

but this is me

my skinnies, hightops, layers.

my streaks and shudda shades

this is me

...an obvious display of scene with faded comtemporary emo with a tint of zero-literary quality?

You should probably get over yourself now before you obtain an inferiority complex at age 17.

What you're describing is any mall in America on a friday night...

Whatever. You should probably read some poetry and figure out that, despite poetry (and fiction) being accessible through all avenues, there are plenty of roads best left to be explored alone (unpublished) in that they present nothing of value on any scale except the one in which you yourself feel accomplished after sitting over a notebook and scribbling out this poem in 4 minutes.

A beautiful display of uniqueness. I like it.

baggy dark jeans,
my studded bracelets n' black tee
this is me... :P
