Silhouette

A Poem by Luqman Qadi

Silhouette

A silhouette of faith I see, creating in me a desire to free, my deeds of past, and the mass of broken promises made by me. If I should fall upon my knees, and pray to whom I cannot see.

The reward they say, is beyond compare (I wouldn’t dare, nor would I share) what it is that is hindering me.

I’ve looked within, and my degree of sin, creates in me tears without in.

The hope of this grips my consciousness, of repentance being the seed.

Wealth I’ve had in flesh and spirit, but at present that does not hold any merit--to what I desire to achieve.

Maybe the morrow will ease my sorrow,

-Or-

I’ll do as they say this very day, and fall upon my knees and pray.

Strong feelings, strong questions, a silhouette of strong faith. Everything is there. Being able to believe and make choices are the two strongest motivations we have. I pray standing up, walking in the forest, I almost never "do as they say." Holding on to sin is a choice, learning from that experience and moving forward helps to nourish the soul. I believe there is nothing hindering about that
Your poem is powerful and touches realizations in all of us. It's a brave and honest man that can truly look within, and then share what he sees.

What a joy for the heart to discover such a profound insight!!! Your write is so humble and honnest that it made me want to read it and read it again. The way you have unravelled your conscious through your heart is very touching and inspiring.
Definitely keeping this one in my favorites ... thank you so much.

Yes it is wise in the knowing to confess your sins to no man.
(I wouldn’t dare, nor would I share) what it is that is hindering me.
And this, an astute phrasing as such. For a Man of Faith.
