I Tried

I Tried

A Poem by BeautyFromTheEarth93
"

This is not real, but this is how I want to meet my soulmate....hopefully in Liverpool...lol.

"

I tried so hard to make you like me,

I became someone new,

All for a boy who did not love me,

Who never had and never will.

I wore my tightest jeans for you,

You didn't care,

I wore a low-cut top,

You never gave me a second glance.

Why? If all men only want one thing,

then why did he not look at me?

After 6 months I decided to be me,

Wearing my flowy skirt and modest top.

In the library, reading a Jane Austen book,

I caught you looking at me,

I thought you were messing with me,

So I ignored you.

But, once more, you surprised me,

I didn't see you walk up to me,

And then, "Hey, Gabby, is that Jane Austen?"

I nodded and you smiled at me.

That's how it all began. With a nod and a smile.
