The Day John Lennon Died

The Day John Lennon Died

A Poem by BeautyFromTheEarth93
"

This is a tribute to the late John Lennon (R.I.P). He was such a peaceful and funny man. Such a great musician. He will be forever missed.

"

The day John Lennon died,

The roses withered,

The sun shone out,

The music stopped,

Time stood still,

Our hearts ached,

Our minds wandered,

Our thoughts raced,

How could this happen?

He was too young,

He was too innocent,

All we need is an answer,

Like John Lennon said, all we need is love.

That's beautiful, BeatleChick. I loved the Beatles from the first moment I heard them--November, 1963, I believe it was. I was watching the Jack Paar show that evening when he showed a film clip exposing The Beatles to America for the very first time. Although I liked all the members, John Lennon was my favorite. I now say with conviction that he was the primary force behind the Beatles. Like when I heard of JFK, Martin Luther King jr and RFK's deaths, so I shall never forget when I heard about John Lennon. His music and his spirit lives forever.

Amazing. I myself am a Beatles addict. You capture that moment (as I imagine it was) very beautifully. All we truly need is love.

I too was a Beatle fan and John Lennon was my favorite Beatle, a wonderful tribute to a superb artist and friend to everyone and as you and he both said, All you need is love.

A wonderful tribute to one of music's legends. Yes," All you need is Love", "Imagine", "Give Peace a Chance" and so much more did his heart and mind offer... A tragic day, "The day John Lennon died".. Beautifully penned.
