What's right?

What's right?

A Poem by Luzrein
"

I was having a feelings jam with myself.

"
I have no words that sound original
But everyone is beginning to understand
That to be ourselves, a single individual
We need all the help we can
Retreive in this broken society
A place with no unity
Groups that all need to see eye to eye
Yet it's hard when we're all different heights
I'm no saint but I live for what's right
And what's right to me may be wrong to you
But I have a few words, please, listen
There's so much wrong going on
with the world yet we bicker
About views that we don't deem right, opinions that differ
But here we sit ignoring the bigger picture
Something that no one seems to be managing to hold onto
It's not our differences that separate it's our inability
To cohabitate and adapt to the strange unknown around us
I don't think that we should walk by each other keeping secrets
Ignoring what we all have on our minds, keeping it hush hush
But some times you have to grow up and think
About what's right for us as a whole instead of what's right for a few
Yeah you may not agree with me and I probably don't agree with you
But we only have one life to mold, one fight to make us bold
And face what we are normally too afraid to go after alone
It may look different to all of us, but we're fighting the same battle
Riding the same bus, there's no reason to argue and divide
When we can join forces and survive, the best way we can
No one man is better or more superior than the other man
Why sit when we can stand, why stay still when we can feel
If we can feel, we can move what moves us and one day
We could all dance, to the same rhythm, same parts
Cause if you look at it this way, we all have the same
Beating hearts, the same red blood, something that
we all seem to forget
We're all so different and even still
We have more in common than we'd like to admit
And some of us can't see passed it
This pit we've fallen in, we were once outside of it
Standing on equal ground, fighting within solid boundaries
Now we're scrambling helpless trying to climb up
To gain back what was never really ours in the first place
A place to live, a place to build on and stay strong
Here we all share the same air and walk on the same dirt
But there's no safe place we can truly call home
On this great wide planet we call earth
We all hide from ourselves while fighting ourselves
No rest, no peace, we can't seem to qualm ourselves
What are we really trying to gain by tearing each other apart
From the inside, when we can't even mend others on the outside
We're all so focused on doing the right thing but
What is even fair to call right?
To figure it out, that is our plight.

This is really good. You break down society so simply that it is almost like slapping me with itself. Nicely done and I'd love to see more from you!

I used to have a way old account on here when I was very young. I've fallen far out of writing and I'm not at all confident. Still, I want to try. more..
