Breakfast of Champions

Breakfast of Champions

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by Josephine Wall

G olden beams of sunlight
form a mosaic on morning clouds
a lover’s breath
morphs into a greedy sigh
                    a sugar coated moment
                           measured by desire
                                   meant to last forever
hungry morning lips will be sated
by the breakfast of champions

I believe some loves are meant to last forever, and this is a beautiful testament. Thank you for sharing your love with us, I hear it's your anniversary, (big smile) That's just so inspiring. Congratulations, I can only imagine the many times you had to bite your tongue to get there to the sugar coated moments most can only dream of.

I just knew I was missing out on something when I skip breakfast. It is the most important meal! Can really start the day off right, guess it's good I had a big lunch ;)

This makes a bowl of cornflakes look positively bland, even with a couple of spoonfuls of sugar lashed on top!

A sensuous treatise that had me drooling for more, splendid Lydia!

They say it is the most important meal of the day...only "we" don't believe it has to include fiber, or calories! ; )

Lovely images, Lydi!
