your smile

your smile

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by anna rasumovs

i hope you know

it’s as exciting as a first kiss

as intoxicating as the beefeater’s in my glass

as arousing as your caress on my bare shoulder

your smile stimulates the rhythm of my life

it is the artwork on my walls

the secret i hold close to my heart

it is the light i gravitate towards

and the ink poured onto the bare page

like nectar from a ewer

it is your smile that completes my day

so it shall ever be

dear Lydi... "The art upon my walls"
the sound of waterfalls...
Yes, love's kiss is a touch of a
painter's blush. Beautiful sensual
poetry penned with an angel's wing.
A lover's smile is as exciting as a
roller coaster ride. truly, Pat

I have never heard of the word, "ewer", but I certainly loved the nuance of hearing it in this lovely romantic offering.

You always shine in a most intoxicating way...bravo, my friend!

An ewer is a decorative pitcher...you see them in all the old Western movies! :) Thanks, Kelly. L.. read more
It is both enchanting and endearing to observe a loved one's smile; to witness the outer reflection of their overflowing inner joy.
You say this, and more, Lydi--exquisitely!

Amazing to say the least. The nectar of love is poured into empty glasses to fill us up with the beauty of your wkrds. The artwork is the desert which is marvelous...:)......

Yep. You are welcome...:)......
" ... it is the light i gravitate towards and the ink poured onto the bare page ..." This shines not only of the romantic imagery that is so well defined in all your works, but maybe even a little bit of spirituality ... Beefeater London Dry and all. Kudos. ~Jim

Beefeater's and tonic with a twist of lime....my old friend! :) thanks so much, Jim. Lydi**
what a lucky guy for whom this poem is written...

"like nectar from a ewer"

love that word, "ewer" and seldom see it in poetry.

a feverish write, what a kiss!!! i love the bare shoulders and the sensuality of the skin together with the sensuality reflected on the bare paper ready to be touched by the poem.

a smile that lives our soul full and yearn for nothing else.

I am happy you've found that smile and it shines on you Lydi! :D
