the edge of good

the edge of good

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

I took this photo while walking on the deck of a cruise ship at night. The moon was full and the ocean was lapping at the hull of the ship.

"

suddenly swaddled in moonlight
i felt like a brave star shining through all anxieties
the glorious moon gnawed away at the darkness in my soul
damn the vicissitudes i navigate daily
the drooping dark circles under my eyes
have vanished
magically        right now        in this moment
life is teetering on the velvety edge of good

It is always a breathtaking spectacle that reinvigorates our mindset from foreboding to umm, what's the opposite of foreboding? ...tooboding? Think I'll go for contentment... final answer! 😃
Hope you are well Lydi. Always smile when I see a write from you.

E, there is no writing in your comment. I think the computer gremlins ate your words! :)
I like this. Those moments when we get close to those velvety edges, through design or by accident, are the great moments. ~Jim

your words are stunning and well chosen for this enlightening scene, something about the moon’s ripple effect on the water calms our souls
this is a very heart warming piece….the moon seems to take care
of our”droopiness”……
