A Poem by Lynx's-Reality
"

Continue On is a poem that has a great deal of sarcasm. By telling her "lover" to continue on the narrator is hoping he will see that what is doing is wrong. (Yes, I know all men are not like this.)

"
Please continue on treating me as a vase
That is empty and in need to be filled.
An object to be dressed, beautified,
So it can be showed off to your friends.

Continue acting like I have no emotions,
like I don't already have knowledge,
A mind with opinions and a heart that can feel.
A person versus the thing that you see.

Continue forgetting that you owe us;
You are here because you were woman born.
Just forget everything she has taught you
And everything she has done to keep you alive.

Continue on your chosen path,
Not once imagining how your mother
Would have felt if the same thing done to me
Would have been done to her.

Please continue on treating me as a vase,
Don't have empathy or just a bit of sympathy.
Just treat me like the object of desire
Soulless, ignorant, and without emotions.

I think you should keep the line because it is a great transitional line that allows the other stanza's to flow smoothly. This poem brings up memories of my own man issues...I enjoyed reading it...well done.
