HAPPY HOLIDAYS (song lyrics)

HAPPY HOLIDAYS (song lyrics)

A Poem by M.Joseph Black
"

Hear the song here!

"

She’s got a pocketful of memories that

seem to weigh her down

And you could read the book already written

deep within her frown

She’s had a belly full of daytime TV,

Richard and Judy too

She cracks another bottle top before the kids come in after school

And though the atmosphere’s enough for  anyone

They get the feeling that there’s still more yet to come

He gets home at eight, been working late,

he’s had enough today

He comes demanding, hungry kicks his shoes

and sits the night away

She goes hankering for times forgotten,

happy holidays

She cracks another bottle top and finds her solace in her own way

And it makes her dream of castles in the sand

How any decent man would walk her hand in hand

But the reality’s enough for anyone

She gets the feeling that she’s got nowhere to run

She takes a walk outside into the night, she’s nothing on her feet

In just the clothes she wears, a vacant stare,

She walks the lonely streets

Still hankering for times forgotten but now she knows they’re gone

She takes the memories out of her pocket

And drops them one by one

About
Hi there. I am a songwriter who obviously has more words swirling around inside his head than tunes..hence my prescence here. Like most of you I need to exorcise myself of these words..put them in som.. more..
