Breathing Water

Breathing Water

A Poem by J.
"

A song about drowning, because who has hasn't written one?

"
Sounds trapped in vaccuum
Echoed from the distant coves
The water wraps around me
In twirled bends and bows

Now I'm breathing water
With my feet trapped in the sand
Fumbling deeper now in stillness
Please just take my hand

What I wouldn't give up now
For one more burst of air
Only silhouettes now
Underneath the sun's murky flare

And now I'm breathing water
As the current passes by
My words are lost within me
Beneath the tidal ebbing cry

Time expands before me
With each second slipping down
Please just reach out to grab me
I'm scared that I'm going to drown

And now I'm breathing water
My pleas in darkness hushed
Weightless I will fall now
'Til in silence I am crushed
