Let's have this moment

I can't hold your gaze 

I'm hiding from myself

I will not cause you pain 

As much as it hurts me to walk away

I can silence my voice 

But my eyes speak too much 

I'm lowering my gaze

You won't see my heart break

 

I want to stay 

Do you want to let me go?

I can't resist much longer 

My strength is waning off

It's the love we leave behind 

That makes our heart weep 

You may have this moment 

I'll carry the sorrow forever

This is so heartbreaking. I sense there is some strife in this relationship and one feels the need to leave it but, isn't sure if the other one really wants that. If you feel in your gut that you need to leave then, you need to leave. "It's the love we leave behind that makes our heart weep." This line is so true as is the last 2 lines. Very nicely done! I believe this is the first of your work that I've read and, I enjoyed it very much albeit a bit sad. Temp

Oh gosh, now on the third poem I am reading of yours... So much pain and sorrow...
I am wondering if you meant silence instead of silent?
