When Life sheds Blood

When Life sheds Blood

A Poem by Aurora (MC)
"

I almost lost my mom yesterday and I felt like going straight to killing myself but thanks to someone, and I think I owe you! There's still hope!

"
An ode of hope for all hopeless hearts,
When life sheds Blood, there's still a little left in you.
I know you're sick of crying, tired of trying,
Yeah you're showing but inside you are dying,
It's not the way, no it's not the way
The way is just in front of you
Where you should actually be going.
Losing hope and ejecting all out isn't the way,
Even if you succeed, there always be left a little in you.

Yes there are turns, there are maze, but you're not lost yet,
Your way's still there someway just go on.
Your depression could be great pain,
But the hope is mighty.
Darkness approaches but not all it can conquer,
Because it's afraid of the sun on other side,
And it know's it will be Eaten away.

You are not well but it's OK,
Because it could have been worse,
I stopped in believing in saying that,
"I will be fine"
I felt it was a repeating lie I tell myself every time,
But it's better than a fake hope,
Or complete hopelessness,
It's better than truth, and fairer than a lie.

I exist, someone cares,
No one could care if I didn't.
There's a difference of life and death.

It's strange that I am writing,
Yes I am in lot pain,
Something that I may fail to explain,
But I was told not to be afraid of failing,
Because no one cares,
I can be wrong,
And they will always see me trying
Regardless of I win or lose.

Each time life stabs in me,
It recovers even more efficiently,
Each time I am stronger and sharper.
I am that almighty's sword,
That can suffer hundreds of wars.
I am not afraid to lose,
It's not in our hands,
What we can do is to try.

I haven't had any long black depressions in a few years, so your poem reminds me how it was when I did have them. The part that stands out for me is how depression causes me to see everything in a much more bleak way. I have to remind myself to look at the good parts, too, which seem to become invisible when a deep depression takes over. The other thing I'm reminded of is how we forget to give ourselves credit for the strong things we do that move us toward survival, day in & day out. Your poem feels like a chant to keep convincing oneself that this is a worthwhile & winnable struggle (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

fantastic title ..wish i had thought of it ;) i feel a deep pain in this ..almost a pleading for something to hold on to ..tho we all struggle when confusion, anxiety and fears try to take hold of our minds and hearts and even our souls ... and when this happens over and over and over ..feeling overwhelmed tempts us dearly .. to quit .. to give up ... thank goodness for that very small voice that refuses ... each victory re-enforces that we can do it .. it isn't too much (we have made it through before) when these everyday things occur and we also suffer more mental and emotional thoughts and feelings .. it is so much more difficult .. i can't imagine! :( how frightening to almost loose your Ma! i hope she continues to heal whatever it was that threatened her ... love your avatar also .. fierce ... intent .. beautiful :)))

I liked this poem and you are welcome dear Aurora.
You are an inspiration to yourself, and me. You seem to have understood human limits, yet still are trying with all your might to surpass the pain in your life. I couldn't be any happier. Excellent poem.
