What is it you see?

Parent to child

"

What is it you see when you're staring at your teenager? Of course you see a harmless face of wrinkles and age. You can see so much virtue and youth blossoming like spring rose peddles. So beautiful a being you created. You also see the kid you told to take out the trash, wash the dishes, and straighten up their room ten times in one week alone without any results. You see a reckless being waiting to destroy anything in its path. Only to corrupt their fragile skin, waiting for you to clear it all up and make it feel better. You see a child needing discipline and order to become this idea of a success, or so you hope. A word you begin to use so often, it almost sounds mythical, or ancient, like Latin spoken as a first language. Your child become an idea, or further more an instinct. A sixth sense almost, to the point where your relationship becomes a rhythm. Now, it is a repetitive flow, calculating its ticks, forming a perfect wave of destruction and construction to form an idea of balance.
