Deserve

Deserve

A Poem by MNeilsen
"

Time to move on! My idea of of what you deserve.

"

Used to be I lived in fear of that one day you would see

You were so much more than I deserved

Now here you are sweet talking the girl I used to be

So confident, sure I’ll believe your false words

I remain silent as you run down your list

Your inflated ego is showing as you tell me what you deserve

I’ve quit listening as I give your list a little twist

Another chance?  No way try a kick to the curb!

You think I’ll give you my forgiveness with a kiss

And that we will make up all through the night

Yeah Right!  You deserve to have me fatten your lip

Right before I blacken your lying eyes

You know what?  I am DONE!

Get your a*s of my porch before I find my nerve

And you find yourself on the wrong side of my gun

Me, I’m off to find the love I deserve

I think it is a true statement It feels as if it were given by a suffered soul

An excellent piece. The words fairly smolder with righteous anger. Well, done.

:) I like it! It shows anger but personality too. It's not all sensual and over-dramatic; it shows your anger, as previously stated!
:D I especially like the line about finding himself at the wrong end of your gun.
