Sweet Threads

Sweet Threads

A Poem by MF.Womack

You either reap what you sow or damage your soul
Thread the needle with fibers that bind before you sew
Rip apart the fabric that we’re all cut from
Clothe your mind with with an ensemble that is the sum of
All the threads of pain and joy that stitch us together as one
Knit a kind cloth to drape across the lost and weak
A blanket statement, not bitter, but sweet
A shroud of strength
Made of the words you speak

The sewing motif worked very well here. The imagery was effective in presenting the poet's positive philosophy. Nicely done.
