Depression: A Chain of Events (Part 1)

Depression: A Chain of Events (Part 1)

A Poem by Grey
"

Very sad narrative poem that I wrote in 2008 as part of a series I should finish.

"

Tried so many times to end it all.

Tried so many times but it all fell.

Wondering if this would lead her to hell.

She has no one to talk to, no one to call.

She has no one to take her out to the mall.

Depression sets in as she begins to give in.

Wondering when will it all end.

She has no one she can truly call friend.

Her family she cannot stand.

While everyone else has it good, she pretends.

She’s like an outcast, but somehow fits in.

She has tried.

She has cried.

She wants it to end.

She wants it to now.

She’s gonna find a way soon somehow.

You cannot stop her, there is no way.

The more you try the more she fades away.

The more you get mad at her the more she tries.

The more she cries.

The more she dies.

She’s really close now and she can tell.

But still is worried about going to hell.

She makes out a plan, gets a pen and a knife.

Gets a sheet a paper, she’s ‘bout to end her life.

She writes a long letter to all she knows.

About the good times, if there were any of those.

Mostly about what they have done.

And about why she did this.

She put it in an envelope, her favorite color one at this.

And then she sealed off the letter with a silent kiss.

She puts it on the kitchen table, for everyone to see.

And rights on the envelope: REMEMBER ME.

She picks up the knife and walks to the front door.

While she silently whispers no more.

She opens the door and lets out a scream.

She cuts her wrists, throat and everything in between.

The seconds left she falls on the floor and lets go of the knife .

The few seconds she had she saw her life.

One tear is all she could cry.

And thought those few seconds.

She asked herself a question she could not answer and that question was why.

She couldn’t answer not because she didn’t know, but because her seconds were up.

And she was gone forever, never would she return.

She felt she didn’t belong, unloved, and hurt.

Her wish was to be happy but was not granted.

But the life left her eyes and that was it.
