Dog Days (Missing in Action)

Dog Days (Missing in Action)

Dog Days (Missing in Action)

A woman’s touch is red,

As a new love views.

Magma beneath wanton skin,

It flows with such viscosity,

Bodies flooding together,

Embellished with foxy smiles.

Months pass and like steady seasons,

Affection takes its place,

Among the worn jewelry;

Earrings to a lost nightgown,

It shines in allowed light,

Sometimes.

Why invite the pain of unnoticed want,

Of unreturned passion,

In turn of unsure tides.

When I open my eyes, at night,

I see a woman who clings to her mistakes,

Unable to really see my joy for her,

Through the mist of,

Muddy yesterdays under a bad moon.

I say, "I will never leave if you hold me close."

My eons buried mother soul,

Speaking truth.

You could love without worry.

But,

You see a man.

And this general sex,

Breeds caution.
