Nativitunique

A Poem by Ninja Empyrean
"

I was adopted and wrote this before I met my real family. I never saw myself in the mirror past myself; heridity, having an obvious visual aspect. This poem became reality for me in so many ways.

"

NATIVITUNIQUE

I hold the ancestry of,

plains people within,

the dance of lines on my face.

I share blood with cousins

who also hold stance,

in the still pure hands

of the motherland.

A hairy situation,

mine is semi-strait,

and will never know,

what direction to face.

My eyes can be found

to look black while in fact,

two’s count are brown.

Full spectrum,

the skin I am wrapped in,

proves the truth of my evolution.

Gaining movement,

and driving my feet farther,

into life’s solutions.

Sounds of the songs from the past,

a coronation for my crown.

Passed down from my father,

from his forefather’s sons,

into what I have become.
