Just a Dream

JUST A DREAM.

There I stood, in the heart

Of an enormous field,

My breath taken away.

I ran barefoot across the field,

The cool, soft feeling

Lingered beneath my feet,

And lightly sprinkled morning dew

Seeped inbetween my toes.

The wind that made

My thick black hair entagled to each other,

Left my face flushed with a tinge of pink,

Telling me that I am loved.

For it kissed my cheek softly.

I stopped abruptly before a

Fully blossomed sunflower

And gently caressed its

Brightly yellow colored petals.

I inhaled the sweet sharp scent

Over and over,

Not getting enough of it.

I then came face to face with the sky

Dotted with white puffy clouds

Like throughly whipped cream.

The sky introduced me to

Skyscraping trees,

Black sleek birds that soared beyond,

And warmth emitted from the sun.

I felt a gentle stir from the wind,

Passing me by playfully,

Urging me on,

It kissed by my cheeks so often.

I smiled and and laughed,

Feeling overfilled with bliss.

I then twirled and twirled in the midst of

This sea of pure happiness,

My thin white dress twirling along with me.

I let a contented sigh out,

And ploped down onto the soft green grass

Watching the puffy coulds move lethargically across the sky

Closing my eyes, I silently wished to God that

If this were a dream,

Please don't let me wake up.

Fantastic poem! If I was having that dream, I wouldn't want to wake up either!
There is a soft, dream like quality about it as I read and I thought,
this is beautiful, simply beautiful! The picture you paint with your words
is so peaceful, so joyful, so delightful and almost innocent like, child like,
in a good way. I could feel the grass, the breeze, smell the sunflower, see
the sky and clouds. Jusst a fantastic poem! Thanks for sharing it!
