CONFESSIONS OF A CATERPILLAR

CONFESSIONS OF A CATERPILLAR

A Poem by MadalaJose
"

Memoirs of a Butterfly

"

I wanna fly

I wanna fly so high

I wanna touch the sky.

I know I can. It’s in me:

I have the genetic code of flight in my body

I have the hue of beauty written in my abdominal segments

I tabernacle in me a beautiful butterfly ready to fly.

I wasn't born to die on rotten barks of dying trees

Or forever flirt with fate on surfaces of variegated leaves,

I was born to be printed on covers of Nature Mags

And be embroidered on floral skirts and coffee mugs.

I am destined to be captured in flight on a camera

And have my moments framed and cherished in time

I am meant to be tattooed on girl’s necks

To adorn and be adored by all

I am destined to reign.
