I DON'T BELONG HEREA Poem by MadalaJoseMemoirs of a ButterflyI don't belong
here In this
territory of struggle and strife In this land of
misery and mischief Punctuated with
despair and disbelief Colonized by
chameleons and salamanders I don't belong
here In this cold
Darwinian empire Where I am prey
to lady bird beetles And mouths of
hungry humans.
I belong to the
land of floral beauty Where I play and
prey among roses and lilies Where daisies
and daffodils make up my entourage Where I define
and defy the dimensions of beauty. I belong in the
air Where I cross
paths with eagles And step my feet
in the ways of pigeons And flap my
wings alongside hawks. I am an heir to
the sky empire I am a
descendant of air kingdom. To the nation of
liberty and expression, That's where I
belong. © 2015 MadalaJoseAuthor's Note
