Blue Bird Standing

Blue Bird Standing

A Poem by Madhusudha
"

Wrote this in response to a prompt - an image of a bird that had lost its beak, feet removed and wings tied up.

"
I got ready to speak
And, you took away my voice.
Never mind, I consoled myself.
Flexing my thighs,
I took a stance.
Then, you cut off my feet.
Not giving up, I flexed my wings,
Well, I can still soar high.
Again you came, unrelentingly
Clipped my wings.
I sit here mute, lame, still
Yet, alive, pondering how and When
I can break free.

I used to write when I was much younger but lost touch with it. Now I have resumed writing and more than anything I feel more alive than I have been in all these years... more..
