Too Long

Too Long

A Poem by Magnolia Liberato

The world spins all around me,

My feet seem to touch no ground.

The marionette strings you have me on

Are invisible and hardbound.

You’ve dragged me for too long

Through this dance and your song.

Now my heart is torn apart

And I’m not meant to play this part.

I used to laugh and play along

In this funny game you play

But now I that I want to resist

You’re strong enough to control me anyway.

You’ve dragged me for too long

Through this dance and your song.

Now my heart is torn apart

And I’m not meant to play this part.

You don’t see the ropes begin to fray,

You can’t see the fingers of my vengeance

Wrapping around your pretty neck.

No longer with I perform for an audience

You’ve dragged me for too long

Through this dance and your song.

Now my part is torn apart

And I’m not meant to play this part.

Very nice write!! Repetition of this para "You've dragged me........play this part.''adds to the appeal of the poem.Your rhyming is perfect. For a youngster you write very well......very mature.
