Words So Cold

Words So Cold

A Poem by MakeshiftRose
"

There you go again, With those words so cold. You took their world. Yes, you did. Their little girl; Their princess. But your words so cold Ended it all.

"

There you go again,

With those words so cold.

Look on in guilt

As the parade of cars drive by.

The parade of black

That no one wishes to see.

Do you feel superior now,

As you watch her mother weep?

Her mother, father, brother.

They all wish to see her face just once more.

The chance to hug her, to say good-bye.

That's all they want.

You took their world.

Yes, you did.

Their little girl;

Their princess.

They'll never hear her laugh again,

That beautiful, chiming laugh.  Gone.

Her eyes so knowing.

Her mind so innocent.

Her hugs so warm.

Her smile so perfect.

All that is gone now.

And for what?

Because you were jealous?

Because you were.

Jealous of her smile.

Her personality.

Jealous that she was their all.

Their everything.

And who were you?

To her, you were everything.

Her best friend.

Her counselor.

Her diary.

Her love.

But your words so cold

Ended it all.

Her life.

Gone.

Her love.

Gone.

There you go again,

With those words so cold.

Will it ever end,

This guilt eating at you?

Your heart.

It stops.

The sound of the bullet rings in your ears.

Her last words bring you to your knees.

What did she do

To deserve such a fate?

Worm bait.

That was your favorite line.

Now that it's come to life,

Can you really face the time?

Not just prison time,

Oh, no.

The time of guilt;

The time of pain.

The time it takes

To make this all go away.

But guilt's a very funny thing.

It never goes away.

It eats at you

From the inside out.

Can you deal with that?

Can you live with that?

Can you go to sleep at night.

Knowing it was all your fault?

Make it stop.

Make it end.

Please.

You'll do anything.

But it's too late now;

The deed is done.

She is gone.

You're dead inside.

Very sad...she should be told off I guess.
It all pulls together well...

Enjoyed the read.
