Self Pity

Title says it all. Feeling sorry for myself. Written in May of '99.

What strange mix of genes produced me
Or shall I blame, as others, my society
My parents, teachers, or friends
Did theyorchestrate my end
Or must I look to myself
As the source of this hell
I watch the wounds, as always they bleed
Who planted this destructive seed
Cut it out, make it go away
How much more must I pay
One step forward, two steps back
From where will come the next attack
Driven down, on my knees
what higher power did I displease
What is the next torment they will choose
what else have I left to lose
