Be good

Be good

A Poem by Mallory Jen

I thought that you'd

be someone I could hold on to

for at least a little while

I thought that you'd

be there for me baby but no

This whole ordeal has shown me otherwise.

I thought you loved me

and maybe you did but

right now i've got to seccond guess

her perfume on your neck

her key in your pocket

I guess you just forgot about it

well you'd think

If your gonna do it

you'd cover your tracks honey

if your gonna do it

then make it easy one me

I look the other way

I guess I'm a glutton for pain but

if your gonna do it

just be good

I've got this thought in my head

that lies are just part of a man

I've been wrong now and again

but this time-  I don't feel that I am

as a woman I've grown accustom too

denile so deep -a lie

twists and turns into

reality

so I'll look ther way

I know that you're gonna do it

so all I've got to say

we both know

you're no price

charming as you are

woman, they can't resist

I say that only, in your defence but

But why does it have to be that you feel so dam obligated

to opease - them

all I'm asking

if your gonna do that to me

if your gonna do that baby

Poetry can document our personal growth as we become aware of the imperfections in ourselves and others. The fact that you are not angry with HIM but trying to understand is admirable, but as a father I say, get the hell away from this person. He's a cake still baking...he's a larvae not a butterfly etc. :-)

As always this poem is sweet and gentle. I wonder if you can take another run at this topic and show a tougher attitude...you take the position of a bitter woman or mean woman etc. Spread your wings and experiment as you explore deeper feelings.

All the best MJ
