Loveless

Loveless

A Poem by C. MacCormack

Your tears fill in the potholes
That line your broken street
Puddles of a rageful envy
And murderous deceit
Play a wounded animal
To bite off kindness' head
Why should there be happiness
You'd rather see it dead
In this nightmare fairytale
You long to feel again
Nothing here will comfort you
So you must pretend
In daylight's final hours
As hope begins to fade
You must accept a truth about
The bed that you have made...

You do not suffer from a loveless life,
You chose it.

About
Writing has always been therapeutic to me. Speaking my emotions is harder than spilling them onto paper with pen. I also write small stories for my children. more..
