Why?

Why?

By Jimmy Glenn

Why is it that we write

About our pain

None of it is bright

And sometimes it seems in vain?

Writing about my pains help

Me with my problems

Squishing them to a pulp

And lobbin’ the rest of ‘em.

Why is it that we remember

The hard things in life

Is because we were a member

Of what we did to strive?

Looking back

I can see

What I lack,

Anything happy

What I write seems to lead

To what in the end is sadness

And it may help those who read

But it could just throw me further into madness.

I thank those around me

For what they have done

They tried and it seems to flee

Whenever I happen to be shunned.

I guess I fell into that pattern again

Sadness keeps on seeping out

With nothing to gain

It comes out with no doubt.

Thank you all

For what you have done

I will not fall

We will stand as one.

I liked this - food for thought - As a writer I think we just write how we feel, I don't like writing about my troubles and prefer lighter stuff but sometimes it helps, especially if you are left a review that someone can relate to - you don't feel so alone - good stuff:)
