Her Peace, His Power

Her Peace, His Power

A Poem by Margie F

He kissed her with his words

She melted into his kindness

Her pain drew him to her

His compassion was her refuge

Tears had soaked her cheeks

Alligators had nothing on her

He dried them with humor

With each giggle, her face dried

Her tears were forgotten

Their cause faded

The pain in her cheeks

The result of constant smiles

She lay smiling at him

Though he couldn't see her

He smiled in return

His countenance was felt

He had been her savior

Touching her need

Expressing her pain

Enrapturing her love

She had been his peace

Calming his mind

Engaging his passion

Empowering his resolve

He consumed her every thought

Absorbed her every word

Her very existence

Poured over him as honey

Rendered powerless

She became one with him

One in mind

One in spirit

He looked down on her

Expression of gratefulness

She rested in him

In his time of protection

A wicked connection

The two could not deny

He would forever hold her

And never leave her side

An interesting way of looking at a relationship. The man as 'savior' is not very popular in today's culture but you make it seem right in the space you have created. cudos!
