I Never Knew

I Never Knew

A Poem by Margie F

C 2002

I never knew the sound
Of your still, small voice,
Until I closed my mouth
And heard you speak.

I never knew the power
Of your mighty hand at work,
Until one day I realized,
My help you didn’t need.

I never knew the joy
Of yielding to your will,
Until I gave up mine
And found such peace.

I never knew that love could come
From something I couldn’t see,
Until you claimed my heart
Eternally.
