The Galaxy

The Galaxy

A Poem by Marian Blau
"

For a friend

"
A milky band of light in the sky
with its interstellar gas and dust.
A billion life could breathe therein,
Thousands of souls searching within.
Among billions, we cross and intersect
I could find another but we seem to connect.
I could skip a heartbeat, and I would survive,
I could be in a car crash, and still be alive.
I would cross the sea and run the tides
I would take away the greed and pride -
Learn from the boy who ate the stars.

Promises made and forever kept,
No matter how our distance crept
Farther away, it appears to play
In my heart, you’ll always stay
A friend, even if time forgets.
I will always be here till the end.

I think we all yearn for a friendship as strong as the one described. Nice word of choice. Nice poem altogether.
