Nature's Gifts

Nature's Gifts

A Poem by Dave

Nature's Gifts

I see you playing hide and seek with the breaking clouds
glimmering through the night rain that was just deposited.
A golden glow adding to the fresh smell of the warm summer
fire flies joining now in the spectacle of light you started.

The last of the day-time birds sing their songs in thanks to you,
clouds clear away and you, are all the more brilliant above us.
You invite the twinkling stars to join in the heavenly spectacle,
so many angels, they glow on and on, their beauty without end.

To take time to look, to see, to appreciate nature's wonders.
It cost us nothing, yet are worth millions, they are beyond price.
What does it take to enjoy them, a few moments of our time.
Forget the troubles of the day, remember instead, natures' gifts.

We live in the midst of the natural world with a forest all around
I love it all
It did recently suffer during a heavy storm but thankfully is still there to enjoy
Nicely written

Your poetry tells me that you appreciate the natural environment as much as I do. Sadly some can not see the gifts bestowed on us. A lovely poem. Thank you.

So much beauty all around; and as you say it costs nothing. We are so fortunate to have been gifted this lovely planet and the ability to appreciate it.

Poets I think, are particularly blessed with that ability; how else could Walt Whitman ever have written so poignantly about something as simple and abundant as grass, in 'Song of Myself.'

I just love the way you express yourself in your poetry. So graceful, calming and soothing makes me think, ponder and simply saviour all your words, thoughts and wisdom shared.

The rain.sunrises and sunsets.the wind.all can be interpreted as symbols of romance also.you have a gift as well, writing beautiful words from the heart of a storyteller

There is a bounty to be found. I love taking walks with my camera and I'm often amazed at the shots I get. There's so much to be thankful for, isn't there? Taking the time - making the time - is all we have to do!

Good to see you back, Dave!

Kelly - thank you for your kind words. It feels good to be back.
Take care - Dave
WOW! This is a great nature appreciation poem! I feel like the “you” in your poem could be the sun, the moon, the stars, or anything else we want to address. As you may realize, I don’t like a steady stream of romantic poetry, so that’s why I’m delighted to find this one of yours in my newsfeed. It seems quite different than your usual style & more to my liking. Sorry I can’t get fully behind your romantic inclinations, but I love it when you branch out from that style. This poem is nicely playful & full of imagery (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
