Collector

Collector

A Poem by Mary C

I remember
who we were
or
who we thought.

I, the beauty queen
and you,
a collector of beauty

With straight pins
on velvet board
you mount acquisitions.

Sad really,
in time,
rhinestones lose their sparkle,
sashes yellow
and
collectors become bored
with wings they've stilled.

gives some nostalgic feeling. Read it few times to find out why but couldn't. Could be just me or the overall atmosphere. Nice write indeed.

Wow, this was good! It made me picture old victorian times in England when I was reading it. I loved the word choices you used, and the flow was perfect. I really liked it, great job!

Nice expression of feeling but tell me can a collector of beauty ever be bored?
