A Frog Jumped Into My Coffee

A Frog Jumped Into My Coffee

A Poem by Honey-Bee
"

A frog pleads for a righteous man to pray

"
A frog jumped into my coffee
A frog jumped into my coffee this morning
It wasn't accident  it was a warning!
He jumped in, swam around and then stood on the edge
He croaked and then said,
"I have come to ask you to make a pledge.
You see the waters are drying up, the people are greedy
and lonely and the children are needy
I need you to say a prayer ever morning
For the people have not heeded the warning
I have very little water to swim around in
And time is running very thin
I need you to pray for water, love and peace for the world, Israel and America
The fears and worries of the people are causing hysteria
A frog's pray can hardly reach the skies
And lately, when the people pray their words and promises are full of lies
A man full of good intent and faith is needed
His prayer will be answered and heeded."

I have the same prayer. I hope we learn comment sense before it is too late. I like the use of the frog and the coffee. You caught my attention. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

It is good to see someone knows that things will be bleak if we continue down this path of overpopulation and destruction of the world around us. Interesting choice of imagery and form here.

Kudos and keep it up.

Your very welcome. :-) :-D
I really love the theme of this poem, and the use of a frog, very smart. However, take note of a few errors;

1. The use of the word "Ledge" to refer to a cup's rim / I know it's for the purpose of rhyming but I would use the word "Edge". Unless it was a Moustache cup :)

2. "It wasn't a coincidence but it was a warning" / I would replace "coincidence" with "accident" / And remove "it was" after BUT or keep "it was" and remove BUT.

3. "The waters are drying up, the people are greedy. Some people are lonely and the children are needy" /

This line sounds like this to me: Waters are drying up because people are greedy. Which I'm sure is not what you're trying to say.

"People are lonely" I feel this needs to be a little more specific.

4. "I need you to pray for water, love, compassion and peace of the world, Israel and America. A frogs pray can hardly reach the skies" /

Is the frog here telling you to pray for Israel and America or should Israel and America pray for water, love, compassion and peace?

Correction in the last line: FROG'S PRAYER

I would like to believe that "Water" in this poem represents something or are we actually running out of water?

Things to work on:
Punctuation.
Spelling.

The poem still needs some polishing up, it is a good one though. Please, my purpose is not to offend you but to help out.

Another excellent rhyme. Love your creativity. Makes us think again about what's going on in the world and we still need to make it even better. Like the frog pleading for the water to the man. I much enjoy your works.

Awe, you're welcome.
I like this. It is playful and thoughtful.
He jumped in, swam around,
I think you meant croaked not crocked.

Thanks for the positive view! And for croaked instead of crocked!
