My X Lover prays

My X Lover prays

A Poem by Honey-Bee
"

He has no idea that I am gone

"
My X is just an X
He tries to have power over my life
But he must think twice

When I said good bye to my lover
I wanted nothing to do with him anymore
His old car I can't afford

He believes that he is my all
Of the promises I have received, he does not know
The life within my soul is now free to flow

This life bubbles up in my soul
And it tells my he is not the one for me
I must go on my way I must be free

Drink my X lover of your death vine
Of the unholy vine we did partake
My heart and soul you  left at stake

When trouble came you were gone
You have broken my trust
My life you left in the dust

Nothing is left of a man that lies
Of his unholy shoe he is left to tie
As unto the Holy mother he calls to in the sky

He makes his bed in sin and then prays
Save me Holy mother he calls
As his prayers bounce off all four walls

I like the perky arrogance of this writing as a young woman regains her confidence and realizes she permitted someone into her life that didn't deserve to be there. I felt the "Of his unholy shoe he is left to tie" line was somewhat out of place. It broke the imagry because it0s difficult to see the relationship to the theme. But that's just me. Beyond that, I enjoyed the read and you dieserve my applause.

This is a side of you I have not seen. Me being me, I dig it. Great job conveying anger, sarcasm, and empowerment. I would be remiss, however, not to add that it should either be "My X lover prays" or "My X lover's prayers"

His old car I can't afford( i like the sarcasm on this line)
When trouble came you were gone
You have broken my trust
My life you left in the dust( this again emphasize that when days are dark friends are few)

yeah this poem potrays a gal who has been betrayed, realised, letf and made peace with it. and she is noe free...she admits that she was once fooled and sined"Of the unholy vine we did partake"

too many empty promises were made and nevr fulfilled her.
