Riddle

Riddle

A Poem by Honey-Bee

I told a funny riddle
Just like an exam
I played it like a fiddle
And then I'd say thank you ma'am
The answers came from all sides
As each one tried and tried
As for the closest answer
 I tried hard to decide
My riddle got the best of me
It got the best of you
No one got the answer
Not even close, Not even a few.
They probed me for the answer
and then tried to cut my hair
I said,  I am not Samson
Please take your scissors and ware
I woke up one morning
To find my long locks gone
I would not go out of the house
I stayed in to sing a lamenting song.

Honey-Bee. I had to read a few times. You create visions and took me with you in the poem. I like how the riddle led you to the house and lamenting. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
Very good. Might look at 'mam' should be 'ma'am' and in second stanza 'closes' should be 'closest'. :)
