My Other Face

you must walk many miles
go through many landscapes
get wet with the rain of emotion
step on the boulders of reason
to get to my heart

(and there the residence may be eternal)

but the same way
maybe this inexplicable acceptance
is the final departure
when in the purity of my feelings
I was not understood

I’ve already learned through the years

that when my soul is ragged " beyond repair
there is no glue to mend
nor a needle to stitch it

and for someone so sentimental like me
 this is an odd feeling
of a rubber that erases all the details
shaped in years " and it’s all  vanished

I delete the words stored in my memory
as it has never existed

making me a cold metal without data
as a formatted disk

when my sensibility is not felt
my truth is not understood
in a true an pure essence
I retreat myself  permanently  - and forever

(I define myself with a total absence)

although I love my sentimental side
and value so my emotions
I like this side of me, honest and true
when it sides with my reasoning

exposing your interior Mary...life can be a harsh reality at times and it can also be a joy that leaves one exhilarated...I believe everyone is sentimental it just needs the right moment for it to happen...nice work on this poem...

Really adored the format of the poem. Overall it makes the poem so NEAT ^_^
Anyways, I really enjoyed the write. It was definitely an excellent piece.
Quite frankly for some reason, it reminded me of that quote "How many roads must a man walk down?" but as a retort to that question.

I agree with the overall moral of the monologue-like self-confessional of this poem that one must not be so open and vulnerable when it comes to things that relate to trust, mostly cause people will take it and run with it.
To tell you the truth, I'm a little stumped at the moment on to give any constructive criticism at all, possibly because there's not any to give. Truly wonderful writing.
Overall, gotta give this one the full one double o'... great work, and hope to hear more from you.

I like your honesty...your self-reflection is beautifully penned.

When do we toe the line and when do we show our vulnerability... always a tough question... but to err is human and sometimes ends up being the right thing.
