Greatest Dream

Probably inspired by the $111-million a guy gets for placing a ball through a metal ring.

Greatest Dream

                 My greatest dream -

                  to be paid

                  one million dollars

                  for a poem.

 

                  “That poem is

                  so wonderful,

                  here is

                  one million dollars"

                  I imagine

                  the mused

                  to say.

 

                  It hasn’t happened yet -

                  this poetic largesse.

 

                  I still have

                  work to do

                  on my punctuation.
