Highway

Highway

A Poem by Kyle

Burnt out on dreaming
Chasing a shadow of a thought,
running down an emotion
Arrive at a memory,
take a few steps back
Shotgun blast
The highway most traveled, yet rarely observed
Once a two lane artery each way to the big picture,
now the shrunken vein through a vast desert for a small life lesson
The sand warns never to return to the past,
but the dormant oasis underneath begs for freedom
Plateau's built on hate and Mountains built on love,
proving that the grass is greener on the other side
