Jenkem Sweat

A Poem by Jesse Lancaster

“you’re cute”
but not enough to stay
warm hands fumble across a cold face
looking out from the back seat,
your streets look the same.
I’m a stray saved from the rain.
woof, “I’m friendly”

Don’t ask to come over
my house is just a facade, cardboard walls
mom, you said I could be so much more
sad song life support, I’m nothing
just lame, perpetual masturbation
screaming, “I’m friendly”

These pills mixed in with my food
to boost confidence, Dad cut me off
let’s watch my canines hyper-extend
through the roof of my mouth, my jaw is fucked
dream of rain, I caught pneumonia
empty, “I’m friendly”

foaming at the mouth.
