I Wrote a Poem.

I Wrote a Poem.

A Poem by Jesse Lancaster
"

Inspired by Title Fight's "Where Am I?"

"
Maybe there's nothing,
just an empty dream,
just an empty breath,
a whole society inside my own
mind where life and
sea stand as still as the land
and trees for fear
of moving forward.

A flood.

After all these months
of feet stuck in the
mud--quicksand
to devour tired legs, hands
long since blistered from holding
the rope yet have trouble letting go.

Maybe there's nothing,
only this moment.

I love how you start with the line "Maybe there's nothing" and finally bring it back at the end in order to show how its meaning has changed (along with accenting it with the final line "only this moment". Good job. keep it up
