Winter Time Again by Levi Levin
Kids playing in the snow
Faces once sad now glow
Birds shiver, shake, and look
For a good meal, that hasn't been took
Snow flakes falling from the sky
Covering roads far and wide
Trees once hidden-now have have shades of white
Dull cedars now painted so bright
Chilly winds bitter cold to the skin
Fireplaces nice and warm for family and kin
Soon it will be over and the warmth shall descend
Then we'll long-for winter time again

Thanks so much! Glad it touched you.
I lived in the mountains in Arizona for several years and believe it or not it really does snow in Arizona. But that's what this poem made me think of and anyone who has ever lived somewhere where it snows will also be able to relate. Take a look at your verse four, I think you have a double word there. But this still made me miss the mountains. Nice work Levi.

No worries. Peace.
Beautiful and vivid scene played out Levi, with all the aspects that make winter beautiful, like looking at the same scene, that has been cleaned up and polished so brightly by the winter wonderland that snow brings. The fun the kids have at the first morning covered and the excitement of making snowmen and having snowball fight, right down to the dread it brings to the aged. So many eyes see the same scene so differently. And your last line sums it all up perfectly, always missing what has left us.

Thanks Nemo! I'm glad you stopped by. I will be posting a new poem about Fall this evening.
Although I love the beauty of winter, the lack of bugs in the air, the cold, well, as you get older, wears a little on the skin.

Thanks for this lovely poem Levi! Brrrr!

Regards,
Al

makes me almost like winter(almost)! You painted with words such a lovely picture of winter- kids playing in the snow, families brought together to warm by the fire. Yes, I almost love winter.
