The Divided States of America ( An Iternaray of Ignorance )

A Poem by Matt Stitzel

The divided states of America
Caught in this iternaray of ignorance
Answers we need won't be found of your t.v.
Or in that big sports stadium you'll pay to see
Not on that hip hop stage either
And not in any politian man's hands

Stuck in a superficial state
Of tinder dates and temporary mates
From Facebook statuses and instagram posts
Snapping chats and tweeting twots
Sought after sex symbols on designer drugs
Were Melting our minds in this melting pot

Craigslist killings and another school shooting
Police brutality there and a hate crime here
Seems society has become some sorry Shakespearean tragedy in which we all take part in and perform. While in a blurry storm of ridiculous news stories that are now the norm.

Nothing is scared anymore with thinking is becoming more and more obsolete
Google this and my phone will know that.
Afraid to see what's in store for the uninsured masses and the broken home, broken down blue collar, poorer than hell social classes

With a side of stupidity thats continually trying
our own self worth which is perpetually dying
These tired eyes cry at the sight trashcan filled streets and all the feats of frightened fighting.
Once again I find no truth in what lyes in the minds and driving fires behind most people's eyes.
