Crumbling Hearts

Crumbling Hearts

A Poem by Matthew Ian Herrawood W
"

This is true.

"

Crumbling Hearts

My chest doesn’t hurt

Though pain I should feel

But the hole in my chest

I just can’t fill

I gave you my heart

And you kept it with care

But now you’ve left

Without giving it back

And I know my heart

Is crumbling in your hands

Just as your heart

Crumbles in mine

This is beautiful. You have a way with words. In the first four lines I can feel the confusion riding between the lines, and then the morph into sadness in the last four. Great job :)

Thank you. Heart break certainly can be portrayed with a terrible Beauty sometimes.
This was very powerful and emotional. Certainly would play on the heartstrings of every reader. Great write. :)

I enjoyed the pun at the begining of this poem. At first I wished there more. Then I relised that this is perfect just the way it is. Great write.
