THREE PLUS ONE IDIOTS

THREE PLUS ONE IDIOTS

A Poem by Maumil Mehraj

 Three plus one Idiots

Different as different can be,
like night and day, incompatible.
But when it comes to friendship, aren't
we just the same?
Time flies, they say.
But they never said it would hurt so much,
to let go of the people you call friends
and part ways!
Masters of the universe, slaves of destiny,
everything is in our hands, is there anything in our hands?
Now that we are separating, I want
nothing to be left unsaid.
Here is my goodbye, thanks for always being there.
Our life will change, and so will we,
but lets just say:
we are, and always will be
the three plus one idiots.

So I had to join the other school, and I miss my friends...we were a group of four, this was to ease the sadness! :(

Such a sad idea, but just all too much of a reality. When I was an 8th grader, both of my best friends moved out of town. It hurts, and it feels as is they're purposefully leaving you, but sometimes that's just life. People come and people go, so we ourselves must take note. Like you said 'Masters of the universe, slaves of destiny, everything is in our hands, is there anything in our hands?' truly is there anything we can control? Or can we just accept it and simply move on?

Beautiful lovely read. Great job!

Sad and heartfelt Maumil, i remember as a child how someone could be a major part of your life one day and the next gone forever, whether they move away from your district or you drift apart naturally its like one day you stop and think hey! what happened to whoever it was, then you feel like how did that situation change so much, life seems to fly on and drag you with it until you stop and wish you were back there, i know that's how i feel these days so i understand you here in this lovely poem :)

Good friends are gold. We will miss school. The gathering of friend will be our best days.

Days of laughter and fun are never forgotten. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome.
A beautiful and heart touching poem! It expresses both the agony of parting and the promise of remembering so well. Wonderfully compiled. Great job! :)

Different as different can be,
like night and day, incompatible.
I loved the beginning. It sets the mood nicely for the rest of the poem. :)
But when it comes to friendship, aren't
we just the same?
Wow! :) It's amazing the way you created a contrasting image in the first two lines and then chose to dwell on the similarity instead. :)

Masters of the universe, slaves of destiny,
everything is in our hands, is there anything in our hands?
I absolutely loved the paradox in these lines. These lines have a universal application for all fields. You've written these really, really well. :)

Now that we are separating, I want
nothing to be left unsaid.
Here is my goodbye, thanks for always being there.
Heart touching lines. Beautifully penned. :)
Our life will change, and so will we,
but lets just say:
we are, and always will be
the three plus one idiots.
You've done a great job here. You haven't ignored the reality of parting ways with your friends nor the fact that people change but you've ended the poem by dwelling on your friendship and how that will always remain the same. You've combined so many emotions in these lines. Hats off! :)

An outstanding poem in all respects. Keep writing. :)
